This stunning single family residence located in the countryside of
Morciano di Leuca Apulia Italy, was designed by luca zanaroli. The
original structure is an abandoned remnants of two historic structures
commonly known as trulli once used as a temporary shelter for local
farmers. The minimalistic interior design features several unique
elements as the restored barrel vaults and domes constructed with
locally sourced stone dating back to late 1800s. A small circular
skylight opening at the pinnacle of the domed dining room directs
daylight to the dining area below. Another two tiny windows one near
the kitchen area and one in the bedroom are the only two aperture to
the exterior, making this typical Italian ancient dwelling a very
interesting primordial example of bioclimatic architecture or passive
house.
