2011

2011 was a great year. We took many trips, celebrated birthdays, anniversary, and made some memories that we'll never forget. I don't know what 2012 will be about, but I can't wait to find out. What are some of your resolutions? I'm still working on mine. Hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year's!

New Addition

This year the husband and I decided to do a $10 limit on gifts:1) Because it's fun and 2) because we just purchased a new couch(above). Now you're probably thinking, that is one odd color couch.. and your not thinking wrong, haha. We chose "Lime"....I feel as though it's a couch straight out of the 70's, and I love it! It's coming tomorrow! Since we picked a color not in stock we've been waiting for this baby since Thanksgiving. Yes, that's right, we haven't had a couch since Thanksgiving...it's rather annoying. We sold our old couch on a whim, because that's how we work...we do things on whims. It normally works out for us.

[Chocolate] Covered Pretzels

Posted: 20 Dec 2011 07:29 PM PST

A couple years ago I made chocolate covered pretzels for our Christmas gathering at my parents house. I was unaware that they were going to be such a big hit; I've been asked for them every year since. A couple days ago my dad called me and said he knew what I could get him for Christmas. He asked if I could send him some of the chocolate covered pretzels I made a couple years ago(he's a simple kind of guy). I told him that was impossible, seeing as they would probably melt(CT to FL, that could get messy). Well after some thought I figured even if they do melt, at least I tried. So they are in a nice little tin waiting to be packed up and sent. If your thinking they should already be on their way, your right...I'm SUPER bad at shipping things. I'm working on it; at least my Secret Santa gift will get to it's destination in time for Christmas!

The great thing about these is you can put whatever you want one them. This year I did: Milk chocolate, white chocolate, milk chocolate w/ white drizzle, milk chocolate w/ caramel drizzle. The caramel drizzle is pretty much the best.

Pop them in a pretty tin and they are ready and waiting...to be packed:)

*These would also make a great party gift!

Macy's[Herald Square]

Posted: 19 Dec 2011 09:02 AM PST

Who's happy that it's Monday? and that there are six days until Christmas?! Exciting I know....unless you're like me and still aren't done with anything. Operation Christmas has officially started today. The baking started last night and hopefully the gifts will be finish by today. This is a sprint, not a marathon!

On Saturday, the husband and I ventured into the city; I was in desperate need to see Macy's windows (I've officially made this a tradition, although the husband doesn't know this yet). They were beautiful, as expected. One thing that wasn't so lovely, the amount of people that were there. I couldn't even take out my camera, so you are going to have to look at cell phone pictures...and the back of many heads. So sorry!

I learned three very important lessons on this trip:
1. If you want to eat at J.G. Melon, get there early.
2. Crumbs is WAY better than Magnolia. End of story.
3. Never walk through Times Square during Christmas

Happy Monday.

{9} Days

Posted: 16 Dec 2011 06:49 AM PST

Have you finished your Christmas shopping yet? We sure haven't! My husband and I decided we were going to do a $10 limit for each other...I have a plan, which has yet to be executed. I can't tell you the plan until after Christmas, in case he reads this.
On a side note, my "Blogger Secret Santa" gift arrived yesterday. I decided that as much as I wanted to rip it open as soon as I heard the ring of the door bell, I was going to be a mature adult(so unlike me) and wait until Christmas. That is, unless they sent me a little message saying I could open it now(hint, hint). The Blogger Secret Santa was an experience! I was so excited to be involved....I'm just praying that my person likes what I sent. I always find secret santa stuff hard....although I feel as though it's so fun who cares what's in the box!
What are your plans for the weekend? The husband and I are taking the train to NYC to go see all the windows! Pictures will follow, I'm sure. Happy Friday and have a fabulous weekend:)

{Flare} Wednesdays

Posted: 14 Dec 2011 08:39 AM PST

Happy Wednesday y'all!!! Yes, I do say y'all-it's a bad habit. This is what happens when you wake up on time...you get to work with time to spare, to take a picture! That store behind me, that's the best boutique around, Hope & Stetson; I work there so I may be partial. If you're ever in Mystic, CT stop by and say hi!
Let me tell you about these jeans. I always wanted to bring back the middle school bell bottom try the flare. So when the husband and I were perusing TJmaxx one night and I spotted the only pay of JBrands on the rack(and my size), I chalked that up to fate and purchased them. They are now my favorite. They add a little somethin' somethin'...don't ya think?

As for the shoes, that you can't see, because my pants need to hemmed like 3 centimeters. They are Lucky Brand, and they are, by far the most comfortable shoe ever. I wear them to work, and I do not wear any type of heel to work.
My day is going to be filled with the designing and choosing designs....I have the best job ever; more on that later! Hope everyone has a happy Wednesday!

{Christmas} Cards

Posted: 09 Dec 2011 08:23 AM PST

Christmas/Holiday cards are funny. When we get them in the mail, most of the time they are pictures of our friends children. Since we do not have children(and wont for many years), my husband thinks we shouldn't do them; to me the card is just a nice gesture at the holidays. Well this year I was determined to get cards out and I was going to put my Zoey on them...since, let's face it, she's as close to a child as I'm going to get for a while. Alas, time has gotten away from me this December and as I was ordering them last night I realized they wouldn't get here until the 16th, which would mean then would have to go out on the 17th, and that's just not going to happen. But I just couldn't waste this picture.....she looks like an angel. I'm still a bit disappointed I didn't put her red collar on...oh well, she's a Celtics fan, she can't help it:)
*We took this the other night when we finally decorated our tree! It took many treats and it was the only shot out of 20 that was usable.*
